Church Services

Our church usually meets most Sunday mornings at 10am in the hall at Thatcham Park School. Our services are friendly and informal. You will find them easy to follow even if you haven’t been to church much before. We have communion every other week and every service has a thought-provoking talk.
Our services are ideal for families with activities for children either as part of our main service or as a separate children’s group run by our children’s leaders. Music in church is led by our lively band and the children get involved with instruments to finish off every service!
We finish our services with tea, coffee (and often cake!) and time to chat and enjoy time together. Please see the News page for details of our next services. You will always find a warm welcome at St B’s!

Muddy Church

Every month we meet at the Churchyard at St Mary' s Church in Thatcham for Muddy Church. Muddy Church is an outdoor event for children of all ages and their families where we explore nature, get creative and have a lot of fun!
Each session begins with an interactive storytelling session drawing on a story from the Bible followed by hands on activities in nature. Children are able to engage with activities as they like, or simply enjoy exploring the beautiful natural world around them. You can read about our first session in May on our blog.
Muddy Church is free and there is no need to book, just turn up on the day. If you have any questions about the event you can contact us at [email protected].
The next events are:
Sunday 23rd June - 2:30-4pm
Sunday 21st July - 2:30-4pm
Sunday 15th September - 2:30-4pm
A.B.C (Adults, Babies, Carers)

ABC is a weekly group for babies, pre-schoolers and their carers where we have time for play and to chat together followed by a short child friendly service with singing and storytelling. ABC is an excellent way to introduce your children to church, and to make new friends.
It takes place at St Mary's Church every Wednesday morning from 10.30am until about 11.45am.
We have new people coming along to ABC every time, if you fancy popping in you probably won’t be the only new face. Come along and have a cuppa with us! Drinks and biscuits for the children too. For more details please contact one of our clergy.
Baby Café

We know how hard new parenthood can be and how isolating it has been for many new parents during the pandemic. Our Baby Café, launching on Tuesday 22nd June 2021, is a place for parents, with babies under 1 year old, to come and meet other parents, relax, enjoy a cup of something warm and have a slice of cake!
Baby Cafe is free to attend and runs from 10.30 to 12.00 on Tuesdays in term time. We meet at the Old Blue Coat School on the A4. No need to book, just drop in whenever you like.

Home Groups

In our home-groups we meet together to share thoughts and insights in response to a Bible passage or an issue to do with faith and life. Joining a home-group is a great way to build friendships with others in the church and to find out a bit more about the Christian faith along the way.
Home group is informal and friendly – and no previous experience or knowledge is required! Currently our house group meet on a Wednesday in person and on Tuesday via Zoom . If you would like more information please contact one of the clergy - see 'How to contact us' page.
